Service to the nation : Indian Railways will continue to give Shramik Special Trains to States on demand
As of now 63 additional Shramik Special Trains have been requisitioned by various states after Chairman Railway Board's letter to the States which emphasised that the Shramik Special trains will be provided within 24 hours of the request. Overall, more than 4,277 Shramik Special Services have transported approximately 60 lakh persons to their destination states since 1st May 2020.
Battling COVID-19 : 500 rail coaches turned into care centres in Delhi With an aim of enhancing facilities to fight against COVID-19, Railways is deploying 500 coaches in Delhi. These coaches have been turned into fully equipped COVID Care centres, and have 8,000 beds.
